You have a direct method of controlling your footage. Either through real-time high-resolution displays or by rendering instant quickies (“dailies”).
You have at minimum 45 minutes of recording time, so your shooting is not limited by the physical length of film reel or by the need to reload magazines.
You have no cost for film processing and/or stock. Because much of the postproduction is already digital, you don't need to transfer your film material into digital material and then transfer it back.
With digital material you have a lossless workflow for your footage from shoot to post-production.
Your digital material doesn't loose fidelity or resolution no matter how many times it is copied or how long it is stored. The whole workflow is easier, faster, more flexible, more efficient and therefore much more cost efficient.
